Paper I (Common for all Candidates Appearing APSET)
- Paper-I shall consist of 50 objective type questions.
- Each question will carry 2 marks.
- The question paper – I will be bilingual (English and Telugu).
- Paper-I shall be of general nature, intended to assess the teaching/research aptitude of the candidate. It will primarily be designed to test reasoning ability, comprehension, divergent thinking and general awareness of the candidate.
Paper II
- Paper – II for the following subjects a) Commerce b) Economics c) Education d) History e) Political Science f) Public Administration and g) Sociology will be bilingual (English and Telugu). All the remaining papers are in English only except Hindi, Sanskrit, Telugu and Urdu.
- Paper-II shall consist of 100 objective type questions based on the subject selected by the candidate.
- Each question will carry 2 marks.

About Exam Board
Keeping in view, the State Bifurcation the government of Andhra Pradesh had issued two GO.s. Ms No. 57 Higher education department has identified Andhra University as nodal agency and GO. Ms No. 47 Higher education department nominated the chairman and Member secretary for steering and monitoring committees to conduct APSET Examination.
In view of lot of demand for recruitment as assistant Professors / Lectures through direct recruitment or promotion in Universities and Degree colleges in Andhra Pradesh state, Andhra university prepared the proposal for conduct of APSET examination and sent it through APSCHE and Government of Andhra Pradesh to the U.G.C New Delhi.
Eligibility
Candidates who have secured at least 55% marks (without rounding off) in Master’s Degree or equivalent examination from universities/institutions recognised by UGC (on the website: www.ugc.ac.in/oldpdf/consolidated%20list%20of%20All%20universities. pdf) are eligible for this Test.
The Backward Classes (BC) /Scheduled Caste (SC)/Scheduled Tribe (ST)/Transgender/persons with disability (PwD) category candidates who have secured at least 50% marks (without rounding off) in Master’s degree or equivalent examination are eligible for this Test.

Read Candidates for Important Instruction
Candidates Are Not Allowed To Carry Any Electronic/Mechanical Communication Device Including Mobile Phone, Bluetooth, Earphone, Tablet Etc. Calculators, Books, Scale Or Drawing Instruments Are Not Allowed Inside The Examination Hall. The Commission Shall Not Be Responsible For Safe Custody Of Mobile Phones Etc.
And As Such Will Have No Liability In Case Of Loss Or Damage. No candidate shall be permitted to leave the Examination Hall until an hour has elapsed from the commencement of the examination nor during the last 30 minutes of the allotted time without submitting the Booklets.
Answer Sheet: The APSET Candidate should hand over the OMR Answer Sheet personally to the Invigilator on duty before he/she leaves the Examination Hall. No candidate shall be allowed to go to Toilet / Urinal during the last 30 minutes of Examination. No candidate will be admitted to the Examination Hall 20 minutes after commencement of the examination. The candidate will be admitted to take the examination at the Centre specified in the Admission Certificate only and at no other Centre.
