Candidates whose applications are found correct in all respects will be called for the Physical Standards Tests (PST) and Physical Efficiency Tests (PET).
The Assam Police Constable Guardsman selection of the candidates shall be made on the basis of the Online Test/Written Examination and interview. Written Test
- Written test will consist of 100 multiple choice type questions to be answered on an OMR answer sheet.
- For each correct answer the candidate will get half a mark.
- Questions will be of the level of class IX and X.
- Total marks for the Written Test will be 50.
- There will be no negative marking.
PHYSICAL STANDARD TEST
After the documents are found correct, the candidates will have to appear in the PST (Physical Standard Test). It will carry no marks. Measurement of the height, weight of all the candidates and chest of only male candidates will be done using latest technology and after which the candidates will be examined by a Medical Officer for preliminary check-up like knock knee, vision test, colour blindness test, flat foot, varicose vein, physical deformities etc. If any candidate is found to have any physical deformity as may be detected by the Medical Officer present in the Selection Committee, he/ she will be debarred from participating in the other tests. Once a candidate clears the PST, he/she will have to appear in the PET (Physical Efficiency Test).

MEDICAL STANDARDS
General:- Candidates must not have knocked knee, flat foot or squint eye, and they should not be colour blind. Varicose vein shall be considered a temporary disqualification. They must be in good mental and bodily health. They must be free from any physical deformities and free from diseases such as diabetes, hernia, piles, respiratory diseases or any other ailment that is likely to interfere with the efficient performance of duties.
Eye Sight:- The distant vision should be 6/6 for at least one eye and not poorer than 6/9 for the other without correction. Near vision should be normal i.e. without wearing of glasses.
PHYSICAL EFFICIENCY TEST (PET) – 40 Marks
Candidates who clear PST, will be required to undergo PET. The PET consists of the following
The Physical Efficiency Test will carry 40 marks. It will have 2 (two) events viz:
Male Candidates
Race: Those who qualify in the PST will be subjected to 3200 mtrs. race to be completed within 14 minutes (840 seconds).
Long Jump: Minimum 335 cm for long jump (3 chances to be given and the longest valid jump rounded off to the nearest cm will be considered for awarding marks).
Female Candidates
Race: Those who qualify in the PST will be subjected to 1600 mtrs. race to be completed within 08 minutes .
Long Jump: Minimum 244 cm for long jump (3 chances to be given and the longest valid jump rounded off to the nearest cm will be considered for awarding marks).

QUALIFYING IN THE EXAMINATION
Candidates will have to pass in each of the objective test. The passing marks in each of the test will be decided by the on the basis of the performance of all the competing candidates taken together in each test to a minimum required level.
Marks obtained in the Online test will be reckoned for shortlisting for interview. Accordingly, candidates will be called for interview. Depending upon the number of vacancies, only those candidates who rank sufficiently high in the Online test will be called for the interview in the ratio of 1:5. Mere eligibility/ pass in the test shall not vest any right for being called for interview. The list of candidates shortlisted for interview, will be made available on website.

Candidates Are Not Allowed To Carry Any Electronic/Mechanical Communication Device Including Mobile Phone, Bluetooth, Earphone, Tablet Etc. Calculators, Books, Scale Or Drawing Instruments Are Not Allowed Inside The Examination Hall. The Commission Shall Not Be Responsible For Safe Custody Of Mobile Phones Etc.
And As Such Will Have No Liability In Case Of Loss Or Damage. No candidate shall be permitted to leave the Examination Hall until an hour has elapsed from the commencement of the examination nor during the last 30 minutes of the allotted time without submitting the Booklets.
Answer Sheet: The Assam Police Constable Guardsman Candidate should hand over the OMR Answer Sheet personally to the Invigilator on duty before he/she leaves the Examination Hall. No candidate shall be allowed to go to Toilet / Urinal during the last 30 minutes of Examination. No candidate will be admitted to the Examination Hall 20 minutes after commencement of the examination. The candidate will be admitted to take the examination at the Centre specified in the Admission Certificate only and at no other Centre.
